Ole Gunnar Solskjaer addresses claim Man Utd can't attract big players anymore

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dismissed claims Manchester United can no longer attract big players, saying the Red Devils are "the biggest and best in the world."

Manchester United have declined since Sir Alex Ferguson's reign came to an end in 2013, and are no longer a Champions League club.

There have been claims that the Red Devils are unable to attract big names to the club as they are not currently competing for the title nor Europe's premier prize.

But Solskjaer has rubbished this suggestion, saying many players want to be part of the rebuild taking place at Old Trafford.

"Agents might not to but players will do," said the Manchester United boss.

"I don't speak to too many agents. United are the biggest and best in the world and I'm sure there's so many players in the world who want to be part of the rebuild.

"Our players and fans enjoy our football and opposition players will like to be part of it as well."

Manchester United have climbed to fifth in the Premier League following back-to-back wins against Big Six rivals Tottenham and Manchester City.

On maintaining consistency, Solskjaer added: "Of course consistency is vital if you want to win trophies.

"This young team need to learn how to put performances when they don't feel great. You don't feel great every time you go on the pitch.

"We've had some games when we've not been able to perform as well as we like but that's a learning curve and the young boys will improve over the next couple of years and hopefully the rest of the season. We've come through a sticky patch in terms of injuries and form."
