Oldland Abbotonians vs Corsham Town match postponed amid coronavirus fears

A football match involving a South Gloucestershire club has been postponed amid fears a staff member is suffering with COVID-19.

Oldland Abbotonians were due to play away at Corsham Town in the Toolstation Western League First Division this evening (Tuesday, September 8).

But after someone connected with Oldland began showing symptoms of coronavirus, Corsham announced the game has been postponed as a precaution.

Writing on Twitter, a spokesman for Corsham Town said: "Tonight's game against @oldlandafc has unfortunately been postponed.

"Someone at Oldland is showing symptoms of COVID-19 and so for precautionary reasons the game has been called off.

"The FA Cup game against @wincityfc [Winchester City] will be our next game."

Oldland Abbotonians have yet to issue a statement following the postponement.
