Oldham man charged with dangerous driving after police chase in north Wales

A man from Oldham has been charged with a string of driving offences following a police chase in north Wales.

Police in Towyn were called on Saturday (8 August) morning to reports of a Volkswagen golf estate driving dangerously.

When traffic officers attempted to stop the car, the driver led police on a pursuit along the A55.

The driver attempted to negotiate a right hand bend and failed, resulting in the car crashing into a ditch on Gors Road.

Welsh Ambulance Service  spokesperson said they were called to the scene of the crash at around 10.19am and sent one ambulance.

A woman was taken to Glan Clwyd Hospital in Bodelwyddan.

No details were available on her condition.

A 30-year-old man from Oldham has been charged with dangerous driving, fail to stop for police, driving with an expired provisional licence, no insurance and drink driving.

He has been released on bail and is due to appear before Llandudno Magistrates on September 9.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the vehicle to contact North Wales Police on 101 quoting reference number Y114538.
