Fans of Oldham Athletic who invaded the pitch at the weekend are set to be investigated by the FA.
Supporters of the Latics invaded the pitch following Oldham’s 2-1 home loss to Colchester United, in protest against the management of the club.
In the aftermath, the Oldham Athletic Supporters’ Federation (OASF), has condemned the invasion and appealed for calm.

Now, the Manchester Evening News understands the FA will investigate the incident further.
“OASF understands and shares your concerns,” the group said in an official statement.
“Many of us have felt for a long time now that the football club has been slipping further and further into danger due to poor recruitment, heavy handed management and alienation of supporters.
“Yesterday’s overflowing of emotions by some supporters was a direct result of that frustration and we want to assure you that we are planning our next moves in close liaison with Push The Boundary and other supporter groups, starting on Monday.
“In the meantime, we appeal for calm heads and cannot endorse encroachment onto the pitch. We will update you again shortly and will include you as much as possible as we plan an appropriate response to the current situation.”
Saturday’s loss to Colchester United leaves Oldham at the very bottom of the Football League, having lost their last their first four matches of the new season.
