Oldham Athletic kick-off delayed due to an unsafe advertising hoarding

The start of Oldham Athletic's game at home to Bradford City FC has been delayed due to an 'unsafe' advertising board in one of the ground's stands.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed the 3pm kick-off has been put back 30 minutes to 3.30pm.

It's understood the hoarding was blown loose in the wind.

It ran around a section of the Jimmy Frizzell Stand at the club's Boundary Park ground.

The club confirmed staff were working to remove the hoarding.

In a statement GMP said: "The removal of an advertising board due to concern for public safety in today's blustery conditions has meant Oldham versus Bradford will now kick-off at 3.30pm.

"Thanks to all supporters for your patience.

"We hope you are now able to enjoy today's game in a safe environment."

The club added on Twitter: Due to high winds, an advertising board on the top of the Jimmy Frizzell Stand is currently in an unsafe position.

"The club are working to get this removed and as such kick-off today will be delayed.

"The game  will now kick-off at 3:30pm.

"Thank you for your patience."

Oldham currently sit in seventeenth place in League Two, with Bradford City looking to cement their place in the play-off positions.
