‘Old Town Road’ by Lil Nax X with Billy Ray Cyrus now is the biggest U.S. hit songs in 60 years

Lil Nas X’s inescapable ‘Old Town Road’ rap collaboration with Billy Ray Cyrus has been topped as a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit in that time by only ‘Despacito’ and ‘One Sweet Day.’

Lil Nas X and his inescapable Billy Ray Cyrus western rap collaboration “Old Town Road” isn’t just the song of the summer.

It’s now one of the biggest songs in the United States in over half a century, reaching a 14th consecutive week atop the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart.

That’s a milestone achieved by only 10 songs in six decades:

16 weeks

  • “Despacito” by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber (2017).
  • “One Sweet Day” by Mariah Carey & Boyz II Men (1995).

14 weeks
