'Old school' - Pundit's verdict on Nottingham Forest tunnel bust-up at Huddersfield

A bad-tempered affair between Nottingham Forest and Huddersfield Town spilled at the half-time interval.

Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi and Danny Cowley clashed on the touchline and in the tunnel as they left the field after the opening 45 minutes at the John Smith's Stadium.

A melee ensued, with staff and players both getting involved, and the ill feeling continued at the final whistle, with Lamouchi's men beaten 3-1.

Cowley accused Forest's coaching staff of showing a "lack of respect".

Lamouchi, meanwhile, admitted there had been some "tension" between the two parties.

Pundit Michael Brown gave his verdict on the matter during the EFL highlights show on Quest.

“You can see Mark Hudson, the (Huddersfield) first team coach, then (Forest defender) Michael Dawson gets a grip with him - two central defenders getting amongst it, a little bit old school," said the former Sheffield United, Tottenham, Leeds and Manchester City midfielder.

"We don’t want to see that and I’m glad nothing serious happened.

"Passions were high. It just shows you the passion, one player who has just gone into a coaching role and one for Forest playing with experience and setting the tone.”
