The skyline of a southside Dublin village is set to be changed forever as plans have been revealed to knock down an old favourite pub and replace it with apartments.
A planning notice has been posted at the site of The Hub pub on the corner of Windmill Road and Crumlin Village.
The proposed plans for the site include the construction of five two-bedroom mews houses, three two-bedroom apartments, and a single one-bedroom apartment.
Two new commercial units at ground floor level are also proposed in the plans.
The pub had been a cornerstone of the Dublin village for decades, operating under a number of different names including The Shaw Arms, Murphy's, and Ryan's.
But the ground floor of the site has laid dormant for years, while a Chinese takeaway has operated out of the first floor.
It's not the only big change coming to the village either, as Dublin City Council gave the green light for plans for over 150 new social and cost-rental homes just up the road.
These new homes are set for the site at Coruba House in the village after the Council handed over the site to Circle Voluntary Housing Association.
They proposed to partner with Seabren who are developing the privately owned site immediately adjacent to it.
Around half of the new plans will be constructed for cost rental scheme and the other 50% will be for social housing
