CHANDIGARH: With the The Pension Bachao Sangharsh Samiti (PBSS) of Haryana on Friday opening a new front, the demand of restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS) has started getting louder now.
The executive and members of the committee have announced the gherao of the chief minister's residence on Monday after taking out the march from Panchkula and to gain access to Chandigarh from various points.
Vijender Dhariwal, the state president of the committee said that the Haryana government has been misleading the employees in the name of old pension restoration from a long time. He said that all the MLAs and MPs sitting in the government and in the opposition are taking pension facilities, but the employees who have worked for 35 years of life are forced to agitate for pension.
Dhaliwal termed the statement of chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar related to OPS as baseless in which he said that the "MLAs and MPs sitting in the government and in the opposition are taking pension facilities, but the employees who have worked for 35 years of life are forced to agitate for their right of legitimate pension," said Dhaliwal adding that Chief Minister Khattar wherein he said that the states would go bankrupt after implementing the old pension, was just a blunder and humulaion for employees.
Dhaliwal said that during the 2014 elections, the JJP, a coalition partner, had also included this issue in its manifesto. He told that continuous movement is being run by Sangharsh Samiti in Haryana in the lines of National Movement for Old Pension Scheme.
