Old Nottingham bank could be turned into Shisha cafe and restaurant

Plans have been submitted to turn a former bank next to the Savoy Cinema into a shisha bar and restaurant.

The plans have been submitted for the building in Derby Road, in Nottingham, which used to be a Barclay's bank.

The building has been vacant since 2013 and lies next to the popular cinema in the city centre.

Signage plans for 'Million Lounge and Restaurant' have been submitted along with the proposals by applicant Mr Usmar Aghar.

The applicants have applied for a "change of use from existing offices/bank into restaurant/shisha café".

If approved, the restaurant would be open from 9am until 1am during the week, from 11am until 2am on Saturdays and from 11am until 11pm on Sundays.

The application will now be considered by Nottingham City Council's planning committee.
