Old Glasgow 'Corpie' bus transformed into dreamy Australian rooftop bar

Given the fact Glasgow produced 20 per cent of the world's ships and a quarter of all locomotives in its industrial heyday, you're bound to find one just about anywhere you go.

Last week we reported how the shipwreck of a vessel built at the Clydeside in 1863 is now one of Australia's most Insta-worthy spots to visit in its resting spot in Queensland.

And now you can add a Glasgow bus to the equation, with a former 'Corpie' bus now finding fame as one of Australia's most unique rooftop bars and wineries.

We were left flabbergasted after spotting 'before' and 'after' pics of the makeover carried out to the 1974 Leyland bus - liveried in former Glasgow Corporation Transport colours.

The bus is located within Down The Rabbit Hole Wines, a winery on the outskirts of Adelaide in a place that looks like it's been generated by some Instagram algorithm.

Called 'Lennon', it operates as function room and wine tasting room. And with a removable clear canvas cover, it is converted into an open rooftop bar in the summer.

The winery's photos of the bus have been setting Instagram on fire, with winery owner Elise Cook's photos of the interior attracting over 50,000 likes since they were posted.

She and partner Dom Palumbo converted the vintage bus after deciding their tasting room had to be on wheels, and purchased it from a private owner after it was shipped to Australia back in 2004 - after having previously been in the hands of First Glasgow.

The winery runs competitions offering people the chance to have 'special experience' private dinners for two on the bus - what is the undoubted star attraction of the place.

We can only imagine how popular one of these would be in Glasgow!
