A woman has tragically died after a fire took hold of a tenement in Glasgow's west end.
Emergency services raced to the scene on Old Dumbarton Road last night and residents in the block were quickly evacuated.
The woman was sadly found dead when they arrived.
Police understand there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.15pm on Thursday, 10 December, officers in Glasgow received a report of a fire within a property on Old Dumbarton Road.
“Emergency services attended and a woman was found to have died. Residents from the building were evacuated.
“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and enquiries are ongoing.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
