Old Dominion DE Tim Ward’s favorite pre-draft moment was visiting Kansas City

The Kansas City Chiefs have made an impression on at least one prospect they had in for a top-30 visit.

In late March reports emerged that Old Dominion defensive end Tim Ward was heading to Kansas City for pre-draft visit. Ward is a talented and athletic defensive end who played opposite Oshane Ximines at Old Dominion. This was not his first time to Kansas City though. The Chiefs first spotted Ward at the NFL Regional Combine Invitational, which occurred at their training facilities this season. Ward is currently projected to be a priority free agent.

In a recent Reddit AMA on the NFL Draft subreddit, Ward answered questions for fans. He was asked about his favorite moment during the draft process thus far. His answer: “Visiting Kansas City.”

So how did that top-30 visit with the Chiefs go for Ward and what did it entail that left such an impression?

“It was great,” Ward wrote. “I got to see their facilities, meet some coaches and eat some good KC BBQ.”

Seeing the facilities and meeting the coaches is par the course for pre-draft visits, but the Chiefs have one extra thing going for them. It’s that rich tradition of Kansas City BBQ. Players often hear about it before they come to town and they want to try some for themselves once they get in. It has to be a requisite for most players who come and visit Kansas City.
