A senior dog with a lot of love to give is searching for his forever home after surviving three years in kennels.
Nine-year-old Roy spent 1,000 days in a shelter before a foster family took pity on him and nursed him back to health.
Roy was a "shell of a dog" and covered in matts and sores when he arrived, but quickly flourished and became a "total love bug".
Natalia George, founder of Flori’s Friends Rescue in Kent, has watched Roy transform into an energetic and affectionate dog, and is desperate to find him a home to spend the rest of his life.
She said: "Roy is loyal, loving, gentle and kind. Don't be fooled by his age because he has the energy levels of a two year old and perfect health."

Roy would be the ideal adventure companion for anyone that loves hiking, walking and camping.
He is looking for someone who love the outdoors and exercise just as much as him, and will get out of the house on a run or cycle daily.
Natalia says he gets on well with people of all ages, including children, and loves the company of all canines, especially his disabled dog friends.
While he can be intimated by larger male dogs and some loud household noises, he is always well behaved.
You'll often find the old boy sunbathing in the garden, watching the birds, and walking on the beach.

At home, he peculiarly enjoys cooking shows on television and sleeping on the sofa or cuddling in bed.
"Roy really is a character and a lovely soul," Natalia said. "It may take him a week or two to fully relax and trust you, but he will slot in perfectly with a loving family if given the chance."
Natalia would like to find Roy a secure home with a female dog and an active lifestyle. He can also live with children and cats.
Roy is house trained and doesn't have any healthy conditions.
"Please do not apply for Roy if you want an older dog to just walk around the block," Natalia said.
If Roy sounds like your dream dog, you can get in touch with Flori's Friends Rescue online to adopt him.
