Old Corrie character is returning to the show - but will be played by a different actor who fans will recognise

ITV soap Coronation Street is set to welcome back an old character to the cobbles, but the character playing her will be completely different.

The show is preparing for the return of the ex-wife of Imran Habeeb - but she won't look the same.

That is because Sabeen will now be played by a different actress who viewers are likely to recognise.

The role was previously played by Avita Jay during her brief stint onscreen in August 2018.

But actress Zora Bishop, who played Emily Warlow in hit crime series Unforgotten, will now be taking over.

Viewers may also recognise her from stints on Casualty, and she has also voiced the Assassin's Creed: Origins video game.

Sabeen, a barrister as dedicated viewers will remember, will return as part of a love triangle, reports Birmingham Live.

Imran will be torn between current partner Toyah Battersby, played by Georgia Taylor, and his ex wife.

Sabeen will go toe-to-toe with solicitor Imran n his fight to protect foster daughter Kelly Neela, played by Millie Gibson, as she stands trial for Seb Franklin's murder alongside Corey Brent, played by Maximus Evans.

Another newbie joining the show is former Hollyoaks star Daniel Jillings.

And viewers also recently recognised another Hollyoaks star on the cobbles during a double bill.

Lucy Dixon was on the show on Monday night, during a double bill which saw Curtis' secret health condition exposed.
