OLB Rashan Gary signs 4-year, $107 million contract extension with Packers

Edge rusher Rashan Gary announced the signing of a four-year, $107 million extension with the Green Bay Packers on Monday morning. Gary’s social media post showed a picture of him signing the new deal.

Gary, the 12th overall pick in the 2019 draft, was playing the 2023 season on the final year of his rookie deal. A four-year extension will keep Gary under contract in Green Bay through the 2027 season.

After tearing his ACL and missing the final eight games of last season, Gary returned to start the 2023 season and reasserted himself as a dominant player, even in a reduced role. He has 4.5 sacks, five tackles for loss and eight quarterback hits while playing just 40 percent of the defense’s overall snaps through seven games this season.

Entering Week 8, Gary had 26 total pressures and an NFL-best pass-rush win rate of 29.6 percent, per PFF.

The $96 million in new money equates to $24 million per year. The deal will place Gary slightly below Nick Bosa ($34 million per year), T.J. Watt ($28 million) and Joey Bosa ($27 million) as the highest-paid edge rushers per year.

Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Gary’s new deal includes a signing bonus of almost $35 million.

Packers Wire will have more on Gary’s new deal as details emerge on Monday.
