Ola Jordan admits she felt ridiculous pressure to be ‘skinny’ on Strictly

Ola Jordan always oozed confidence on the Strictly dancefloor.

But the professional dancer confessed she felt incredible pressure to be "skinny" and maintain her dance-honed physique while performing on the BBC live shows.

The choreographer, 36, revealed she's naturally got a curvy frame, with "boobs and the bum", and she claimed because of her petite height any weight she put on showed.

She told The MailOnline : "When you're on the show there is a thing in your head, you don't wanna stand there… I was never the thinnest girl and I was never that lucky thin girl, I always had to work for it.

"People would say 'oh my god your body is amazing' and I worked for it. I'd go to the gym a lot, I watched what I ate. I worked for it a lot – it didn't come easy for me.

"I am a curvy girl. I've got the boobs and the bum as well, you know. And, I'm short, I'm not tall, so when I put a tiny bit of weight on it really, really shows you know?"

Ola was the picture of confidence every time she waltzed onto the dancefloor for 10 years.

In 2006, the television sensation lifted the lid on how she only consumed 600 calories a day to stay as thin as possible when she was a young dancer.

"It was very important for me to look the best I could," she said on Loose Women. "I did used to go to extremes."

She clarified: "I wouldn't say I had an eating disorder, I was never treated for an eating disorder. Obviously, I did go to extremes. I wanted to open up about that, to show everyone that it was not pretty and girls do go through those things."

The blonde bombshell took Strictly by storm when she first joined the show in 2006.

In 2015, the dancer bowed out of performing in the dazzling BBC show.

The Polish born beauty has been happily married to James Jordan since they tied the knot in 2003.

Ola and James first crossed paths in 1999 during a dance competition in Blackpool and fell crazy, madly in love with one another; in just four years, they were married.

James also appeared on Strictly as a professional dancer but from 2006 until 2013.
