OL Jake Lacina: ‘I knew the Vikings were the team I was going to pick’

Offensive lineman Jake Lacina, a player out of Augustana, signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent.

If he ends up making the team, it wouldn’t be the first time a Lacina has played an NFL season with the Vikings.

Lacina’s father, Corbin, played with Minnesota for four of his 10 NFL seasons.

Right now, the Vikings are saying Corbin’s son Jake is a guard or center at the next level, Jake told Pioneer Press sports columnist Bob Sansevere.

Here’s what Jake told Sansevere about the Vikings:

“I knew the Vikings were the team I was going to pick. It seemed like a good fit for me and a good chance to make the team. As long as I’m on a team right now, I’m happy. A lot of people can’t say that.”

The Vikings guaranteed $473,300 in total in order to sign undrafted free agents this offseason, Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune reported. Minnesota gave Lacina a $6,300 signing bonus to come to the team.
