Lawrence Okolie vs Ebenezer Tetteh LIVE!
Ebenezer Tetteh lasted just two rounds as he was condemned to a TKO defeat by Lawrence Okolie in Lagos on Sunday. The disparity between the fighters’ enthusiasm level was clear from their ring walks - Tetteh made an unceremonious entrance, while Okolie danced into the ring and jogged laps around the announcer as he was introduced to the crowd.
The fight followed an unsurprising trajectory. Okolie flew out of the gates and Tetteh could barely muster the energy to throw a jab back in response. Come the end of the second round, the Ghanaian could not even bring himself to keep his hands up, and he did not bother getting back into the ring when the bell tolled to signal the start of the third. Speaking afterwards, Okolie promised to return to Lagos for his mandatory eliminator bout against Moses Itauma.
Earlier in the evening, Tony Yoka stunned Patrick Korte with a surprise first-round knockout, going on to call out Joe Joyce. Catch up with all the action from fight night as it happened below with Standard Sport’s dedicated LIVE blog, complete with expert insight and analysis.

Pressed as to which big names he was after, specifically, he added: “Joe Joyce. That is the one I want. We have a long love story. I know he loves me, so let’s make it happen!”

The first of ten rounds is underway!
Ex-Olympic gold medallist Yoka is some eight years younger than his opposite man.

20:51 , Arthur FerridgeTime for the big lads now. A heavyweight bout is up next: Tony Yoka vs Patrick Korte!
Adebayo vs Shogbesan reaction
20:41 , Arthur FerridgeShogbesan is less than impressed with the decision here.
“The truth is this. Yes, this is boxing. I went to South Africa. I boxed with a champion and I won. This result is not satisfactory.”
Adebayo hits back: “He is fighting an old man, not a young guy like me. It is my turn. I am a champion.”
Adebayo vs Shogbesan
20:39 , Arthur FerridgeThe decision is in, and it is a draw! Remarkable - a cracking six rounds end all square. It needs a rematch!
Here are the judges’ scores:
57-56 in favour of Shogbesan
56-58 in favour of Adebayo
57-57.
Adebayo vs Shogbesan
20:35 , Arthur FerridgeRound six: Adebayo loses his footing again midway through the final round of this fight, and, on the balance of the past few rounds, this can only really go to Shogbesan.
The final seconds tick away and Shogbesan lands a few more bruising blows to his opponents face to really seal the deal here.
Both men celebrate as the final bell rings. Let’s see the decision...
Adebayo vs Shogbesan
20:31 , Arthur FerridgeRound five: Shogbesan lands a massive left hand on Adebayo and sends his opposite man staggering! That could be a decisive moment here...
Adebayo vs Shogbesan

Adebayo vs Shogbesan
20:23 , Arthur FerridgeRound three: Shogbesan has a knack for a knockout, and Adebayo seems to be fading slightly here. The former has a massive smile on his face and is clearly enjoying himself.
Adebayo vs Shogbesan

Defreitas vs Salawu
19:57 , Arthur FerridgeDecision time, and no surprises. London’s own Shiloh Defreitas has his glove in the air - unanimous decision!
Defreitas vs Salawu
19:55 , Arthur FerridgeRound six: It is a spirited final round from both fighters, but after Salawu was dropped twice earlier in the fight, this can only really go one way.
Salawu drops to his knees at the final bell in an apparent celebration, but I would be shocked if he gets the win he seems to think is coming his way.
Defreitas vs Salawu
19:51 , Arthur FerridgeRound five: Salawu just about makes it to the end of the round. Defreitas is cruising here. He knows he’s well ahead on the scorecard - time to get it over the line now.

Defreitas vs Salawu
19:45 , Arthur FerridgeRound four: DOWN GOES SALAWU!
Defreitas vs Salawu
19:42 , Arthur FerridgeRound three: Fun fact about Shiloh Defreitas, who is winning this fight comfortably: His father is Marcus Luther, of Gogglebox fame.
Defreitas was also a gold medallist at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2017.
Defreitas vs Salawu
19:38 , Arthur FerridgeRound two: Salawu starts the second round looking to make an impression, but he is swinging wildly and connecting very little. His struggles compound as he ducks under Defreitas’ hook and hugs his opponent at the waist.
Defreitas still looking perfectly comfortable here, it must be said. Totally nonplussed, fully composed, definitely on top.
Defreitas vs Salawu
19:34 , Arthur FerridgeRound one: A tentative start to this bout, nowhere near the frenzy that came in the first. Defreitas really looks to have hurt Salawu in the dying seconds, though - he lands some crunching blows to the abdomen.
Defreitas vs Salawu
19:32 , Arthur FerridgeShiloh “Sugar Shy” Defreitas is a Londoner, for the record. The Tooting-born 26-year-old has won all of his six fights.

19:17 , Arthur FerridgeSpeaking to DAZN, Chukwudi reviews his win: “Firstly, I say Alhamdulillah. None of this would have happened without the support of Allah. I also thank my Dad, a former professional boxer, and my mother. God bless you, Ma.
“I am grateful, guys, I wish I could have done better. If this was a ten-round fight, I would have dropped this ******!
“I am a very buoyant person, I like to flaunt myself on Facebook and Instagram. But when I saw that the person I was facing was my brother, I did not post a single thing online.”
Addressing Chukwudi, he adds: “I thank you very much. You are a blessing to the Nigerian sport. You are educated, you are buoyant, you can speak, God bless you, Isaac Chukwudi.”

Chukwudi vs Animashaun

Chukwudi vs Animashaun
19:05 , Arthur FerridgeRound five: Animashaun lands a pair of devastating combos towards the end of that round. Hard to call who is in front on the scorecards as we head into the final round.
Chukwudi vs Animashaun
19:01 , Arthur FerridgeRound four: Both fighters step on the gas in the fourth round! Chukwudi misses some huge swings at Animashaun, who seems to be taking control now having flipped the momentum from the previous round.
Chukwudi vs Animashaun
18:57 , Arthur FerridgeRound three: Chukwudi’s experience is starting tos how now - he has taken control of this fight at the half-way stage. Animashaun is going nowhere, though - he’s still very much in this.
Chukwudi vs Animashaun
18:53 , Arthur FerridgeRound two: More of the same in the second round. Animashaun is a highly rated local prospect, and is making a really good account of himself against much more experienced opposition.
Chukwudi vs Animashaun

A unique face-off
17:58 , Arthur FerridgeOkolie and Tetteh held their weigh-in on the streets of Lagos yesterday.
Relive Daniel Dubois' thrilling knockout of Ebenezer Tetteh
17:51 , Arthur FerridgeDaniel Dubois extended his professional record to 13-0 with a devastating first-round knockout win over Ebenezer Tetteh back in 2019.
Then 22-year-old Dubois, the third youngest British heavyweight champion, added the vacant Commonwealth title to his collection after another impressive showing at the Royal Albert Hall.
The Londoner had stopped 11 of his 12 previous opponents leading into Friday’s fight and made swift work of 31-year-old Tetteh, with the Ghanaian fighting outside of his homeland for the first time.
Tetteth looked riddled with nerves from the start - with his team forgetting to put his gumshield in his mouth just before the opening bell.
It wasn't a good omen. Dubois landed a shuddering body shot before dropping his opponent midway through the opener with a huge right hook.
Tetteh unwisely got straight back to his feet, prompting Dubois to charge in with a heavy left-right combo. With Tetteh reeling, the referee stepped in to end the contest.

Okolie vs Itauma?
17:40 , Arthur FerridgeLawrence Okolie has been ordered by the WBC to face 20-year-old up-and-comer Moses Itauma at heavyweight, and he says he is willing to take on that challenge.
Speaking on Okolie’s behalf, his trainer Joe Gallagher said: "I petitioned for him to be made mandatory [challenger]. Kabayel's having a fight in January, Usyk they're allowing a voluntary [defence]. AJ ranked No 3 and Dubois No 2 weren't available to fight at the moment so they made Lawrence and Moses as a final eliminator, which was a surprise.
"Whether it happens or not, I'm not sure. I doubt it. But Lawrence is here to fight everyone and anyone so that's where we are."

Okolie calls for more British boxing in Africa
17:26 , Arthur FerridgeLawrence Okolie predicts that mroe British boxers will follow him in fighting in Africa.
"They're going to see me headline the show over there and then they're going to have the fear of missing out and come running over to do it as well," he told BBC Sport Africa.
"I'm really looking forward to my fight there."
What this fight means for Okolie
17:18 , Arthur FerridgeOkolie, who has Nigerian parents, fights for just the third time up at heavyweight, having previously reigned as the WBO cruiserweight champion and, for a very short time, the WBC champion at bridgerweight.
‘The Sauce’ - having signed with Frank Warren and Queensberry - stepped up after that devastating first-round knockout of Lukasz Rozanski in Poland and debuted in the sport’s traditional glamour division by producing another against Hussein Muhamed at Wembley Arena 12 months ago.
Okolie followed it with a comfortable if uninspiring 10-round points win over fellow former WBC bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena as he retained his WBC Silver title on the Oleksandr Usyk vs Daniel Dubois undercard at Wembley Stadium in May.
The WBC recently ordered Okolie to face heavyweight phenom Moses Itauma in a final eliminator, a massive challenge that he says he is willing to take on.

Standard Sport prediction
17:06 , Arthur FerridgeStandard Sport’s George Flood gazes into his crystal ball and has a crack at predicting tonight’s bout...
Okolie has produced two first-round knockouts in his last three fights and you certainly wouldn’t bet against another here.
Despite his fury with the referee, Tetteh was blasted away easily by Clarke earlier this year and it is perhaps a sign of where Whyte currently finds himself that it took him seven rounds to beat the same opponent.
The Ghanaian, now 37, is in for another rough night on Sunday, where Okolie will no doubt be keen to make an emphatic statement having had familiar criticism over his fighting style resurface following a dull meeting with Lerena.
Okolie to win by early knockout.
