Who better to ask about the differences between Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray than the man who caught the most passes from the two QBs at Okahoma? That would be wide receiver Marquise Brown, and his scouting combine media session was dominated by questions about his Sooners QBs.
Brown was asked several questions about Mayfield, now the Browns’ franchise QB after being the No. 1 pick a year ago, and Murray. The latter is projected as a top QB prospect in this class, though his lack of height and minimal experience are very real drawbacks.
When asked what the difference was in their throwing, Brown was pretty vague. He did elaborate more on the personality differences,
“Baker is more of a talker. Kyler is more… he lets his play do the talking. They’re two different personalities, but they’re two great quarterbacks.”
Brown indicated he had a meeting with the Browns scheduled for Friday night. He is not working out as he recovers from Lisfranc surgery on his foot. Weighing in at just 166 pounds and with the injury issue, his draft stock is probably not as high as the second-round projections from before the combine.
