Oklahoma State (2-0) vs. Tulsa (1-1) Game Preview
Why Tulsa Will Win
So there’s the Tulsa offense that hasn’t been there on a regular basis over the last few years.
Granted, it came against San Jose State, but on the road, Zach Smith had a sharp passing game, the running game ripped off big runs in chunks, and overall, it looked and played like a team that might just be good enough to keep up in a shootout.
It’s a better attack than the stats might show – going against Michigan State’s defense skews things a bit – with enough balance to hit the Cowboys with a versatile attack.
Oklahoma State is all Oklahoma State again. The offense is terrific, but the defense can’t come up with a third down stop and there aren’t enough plays behind the line.
Why Oklahoma State Will Win
The Cowboy offense is special again.
While everyone is gushing all over Jalen Hurts and Oklahoma, and wondering whether or not Texas is back, or close to it, the Cowboys are looking every bit the part so far with Spencer Sanders coming up with a huge start at quarterback, RB Chuba Hubbard about to be a much bigger thing once he gets a look on a bigger stage in a bigger game, and the receiving corps – especially Tylan Wallace – is as good as any in America.
Tulsa can’t keep up with that.
The Golden Hurricane will come up with a few nice drives and plenty of points, and the Cowboys will have an answer every time. Tulsa gets flagged too often, the D doesn’t take the ball away, and again, there isn’t enough talent to match OSU point-for-point.

What’s Going To Happen
Get ready to have some fun. Tulsa will be fired up to be at home, Oklahoma State’s storyline will be about the passing of T. Boone Pickens, and the two offenses will put on a show.
Oklahoma State won’t stop the Golden Hurricane enough to run away and hide with this, but the Big 12 talent will come through four a full four quarters. The depth will shine through, too.
