CHAOS, man. Just pure chaos. That’s what championship weekend is, y’all. That’s the only way to properly explain it.
Yes, we all know football is literally a game of inches. Those inches accumulate into yards and, if you’re successful, those yards turn into touchdowns.
But when you don’t succeed? When you don’t gain enough of those inches? Boy, it can be catastrophic. Even if you miss by just a few, it can literally mean the difference between having an opportunity to play on college football’s biggest stage or not.
That happened to Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Championship game against Baylor.
Not only was a Big 12 Championship in play for them here, but so was a potential berth in the College Football Playoff as the 5th ranked team in the country coming into Saturday.
And they fell just four inches short of it all on this final run by Dezomon Jackson in the final moments of the game.
This. Is. Brutal.

And this final play, by the way, came with 30 seconds left and no timeouts for either side.
The thing is Oklahoma State had a shot at scoring in the redzone seven times on this possession. SEVEN. Inside the 2-yard line. And they were even given stoppages they shouldn’t have gotten.
And they still. Couldn’t. Score. That’s just insane.
