FORT WORTH, Texas _ Two weeks removed from its most impressive performance, a 62-22 blowout win at then-No. 17 Baylor, TCU put up just six points on offense and didn't score in the final three quarters Saturday in a 31-6 loss to No. 11 Oklahoma State (9-2, 7-1 Big 12) at Amon G. Carter Stadium.
It was the second time in the last three games that the TCU offensive coaching staff pulled starting quarterback Kenny Hill late in the game in favor of backup Foster Sawyer. Hill went 18-for-27 for 166 yards with one touchdown, a 4-yard shovel to KaVontae Turpin late in the first quarter, to go along with two picks.
The Horned Frogs (5-5, 3-4) were just 6-for-16 on third down and went 1-for-4 on fourth down tries, including two failed fourth-down attempts within the OSU 5-yard line out of the Wild Frog formation. Oklahoma State outgained TCU, 541-343.
TCU has another shot at becoming bowl eligible Friday at Texas.
