Oklahoma RB Rodney Anderson (knee) won’t do on-field workouts at NFL Combine

Oklahoma running back Rodney Anderson had the looks of a first rounder the season before tearing his ACL in the second game of his 2018 campaign, which marked his third injury in four years.

With the NFL Scouting Combine just days away, Anderson was hoping to be ready for the big event. Unfortunately, he will be limited to interviews, measurements and the bench press, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

This marks the second Sooner that won’t be able to do on-field workouts, as former teammate wide receiver Marquise Brown will be held out, as well.

Although he’s missing the Combine, Anderson hopes to hold a personal pro day in April before the 2019 NFL draft in order to impress NFL decision makers and show he’s ahead of schedule from his September surgery.

Anderson still has a shot to be drafted in the middle rounds in a deep running back class, especially if the supposed workout goes as planned, and he shines in the various drills that they will have planned.
