Oklahoma piles up 684 yards while destroying Florida in Cotton Bowl

Oklahoma caught and undermanned Florida team in the Cotton Bowl and the Sooners ran all over the Gators, 55-20, Wednesday in Dallas.

Florida had numerous players opt-out and was otherwise not in uniform and the contest turned ugly early.

Heisman Trophy finalist Kyle Trask threw three interceptions, including a Pick-Six, in the first quarter as Oklahoma surged to a 17-0 lead.

The Gators managed to close within 17-13 before Oklahoma erupted for 38 straight points.

Oklahoma had the most yards in the history of the Cotton Bowl on offense with 684.

The Sooners (9-2) rushed for 435 yards, led by Rhamondre Stevenson’s 186 yards and Marcus Major’s 110. Quarterback Spencer Rattler threw for 247 and rushed for 40 more.

Trask, the likely fourth-place finisher in the Heisman race wound up 16-of-28 for 158 yards and the trio of picks. He missed his favorite target, tight end Kyle Pitts, who opted-out to get ready for the 2021 NFL Draft.

Florida gave up 144 points in its last three games, losses to LSU, Alabama, and the Sooners and finished 8-4.
