Oklahoma OT Cody Ford to meet with Texans at NFL combine

The Houston Texans are working the NFL combine in Indianapolis to determine how to adequately address their offensive line.

According to former Oklahoma Sooners tackle Cody Ford via Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, the 2018 AFC South champions will meet with the Pineville, La., native on Thursday.

Ford is a prospect that may be just outside the Texans’ reach, at least according to mock draft artists. However, the reality of the NFL draft is that players who should go high usually don’t, and free agency also creates its own needs.

The fact the Texans are meeting with Ford shows they are doing their due diligence to get ready to take an impact offensive lineman that can help keep quarterback Deshaun Watson upright throughout the regular season.
