Oklahoma City waives four following final preseason game

Oklahoma City waived four players on Thursday.

Executive Vice President and General Manager Sam Presti announced via press release that the Thunder have parted ways with guard/forward DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell, guard Abdul Gaddy, forward Myke Henry and forward/center Eric Moreland.

Gaddy saw the most playing time during the preseason, appearing in two games for OKC. He logged four minutes of court time in the Thunder’s 110-84 win over the New Zealand Breakers, as well as their 124-119 loss to Memphis Monday but did not record any statistics.

Akoon-Purcell and Myke Henry both played two minutes in Oklahoma City’s 107-70 loss to the Mavericks on Oct. 14. Akoon-Purcell was 0-of-2 from the floor, including 0-1 from three. Henry missed his only shot attempt.

All four were signed on Sept. 31, a day before Oklahoma City started training camp.

The Thunder begin the 2019-20 regular season Oct. 23 on the road against the Utah Jazz. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.
