OKC Thunder news: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander enters, Josh Giddey exits health and safety protocols

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced in its latest injury report that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has entered health and safety protocols while Josh Giddey has exited them.

Gilgeous-Alexander joins Darius Bazley, Tre Mann, Aleksej Pokusevski and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl under protocols. Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault is also under protocols.

Gilgeous-Alexander played on Friday against the New York Knicks, where he scored 23 points in a win. With the NBA’s new quarantine rules of allowing vaccinated players to return in six days with the proper testing results, Gilgeous-Alexander can return in less than a week.

For Giddey, this marks his return to the team since being initially listed under health and safety protocols this past Tuesday. With the Thunder’s next game coming on Sunday against the Dallas Mavericks, that would mark six days between him being placed under it and him playing a game.
