'Okay but for real' - Liverpool fans all notice same thing in friendly win over Bologna

Liverpool fans seemed to be rather impressed with the intensity and rhythm of Jurgen Klopp's side as they thrashed Bologna in the first of two pre-season fixtures against the Serie A side over in Evian.

Goals from Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota gave the Reds an early lead as they continued their fine pre-season form.

There were numerous talking points from the victory that caught the eyes of many Reds fans, with Virgil van Dijk racking up valuable minutes in his road to recovery and Naby Keita putting in another impressive shift.

However, it was the intensity that Klopp's side brought to the fixture that seemed to take most by surprise, with sides normally taking until mid-August to really get up to gear with intensity.

And Liverpool fans didn't waste anytime in flocking to social media to talk about the intensity of the game.

Klopp's men have earned a reputation as one of the most intense sides in the land since the German took over in October 2015.

The 'gegenpress,' as it's known, has become Liverpool's main identity, as Klopp aims to minimise the time it takes to win the ball back in the final third of the pitch.
