Oji Holdings Corp. said Tuesday it will provide interest-free loans of up to 1 million yen to financially struggling students -- who are prospective employees that may join the company in 2021 -- because of the spread of the coronavirus.
The program is designed to help prospective employees who are students unable to take part-time jobs or whose families are unable to send as much money because of business suspensions following the declaration of a state of emergency. About 50 future employees will be covered by the program, and group companies are considering similar measures.
Oji Holdings will also provide tissues and toilet paper to potential employees and start paying interns.
