Family-run oil distributor, Oil 4 Wales, has reported a surge in revenues.
The business, which has it headquarters in Carmarthen, saw revenues rise from £114m to £121m for its financial year to the end of August, 2019.
It also grew customers from 70,000 to 90,000, while its head count rose from 98 to 111. Its volume of fuel also surged to 160 million litres per annum.
It also reported pre-tax profits of £380,000, down on £605,554 a year earlier. This was a result of significant investment in the business and acquisitions.
The revenue growth was partly fuelled by its acquisition of the Pwllheli depot of Rix Petroleum and the Llantrisant operation of fuel supplier Thomas Silvey.
Since the acquisitions Oil 4 Wales has invested a further £450,000 in the new depots.
The business now has nine depots across Wales and owns three filling stations. Its 36 tankers deliver oil to farms, businesses and domestic customers.
The business was founded by Colin Owens, who said he was proud of how far the business has grown and looked forward to further expansion this year.
He added: “Oil 4 Wales has enjoyed growth across all areas this year, and we are extremely proud as a business to have exceeded £120m during the last financial year.
“Not only have we increased our customer numbers by 20,000 our revenues, but most importantly we’ve been able to invest in expanding our portfolio and enhancing facilities to support communities across Wales."
This year the business will celebrate 10 years of trading.
