
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation rejected on Monday adopting any measures that do not meet the Palestinians’ non-negotiable rights.
The 57-member organization held a summit in Jeddah to discuss the peace plan announced by US President Donald Trump last week.
The foreign ministers of the OIC called on “all member states not to engage with this plan or to cooperate with the US administration in implementing it in any form".
The opening session was chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, OIC Secretary-General Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen and Palestinian Foreign Minister Dr. Riyad al-Maliki.
In his speech, the Saudi FM called for solidarity with the Palestinian people in defense of their just cause.
He reaffirmed that the Kingdom supports the Palestinians in their choices in a way that meets their hopes and aspirations.
He also stressed the need for serious efforts to end the Palestinian-Israeli conflict through a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause, that ensures the rights of the Palestinian people and restores their legitimate rights.
On Saturday, the Arab League rejected Trump's plan, which had enraged Palestinians.
During a meeting in Cairo, Arab foreign ministers said the so-called deal of the century failed to meet "the minimum rights and aspirations of Palestinian people".
