Oi Melbourne: Give Us Your Best Scream & You Could Be An Extra In An Aussie Horror Flick
A good horror movie scream is a skill few can master. Think Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween or our home-grown Samara Weaving, famed for her blood-curdling belts.
But, if you’re like me and have an inflated ego, then boy do I have the thing for you! A brand new comp is on its way, and it promises to take one lucky winner from scream to silver screen.
Interested? Of course you are!

19 Crimes, the bad boy wine brand who brought you the iconic Snoop Dogg collab, is back with a Halloween twist. They’ve just dropped a limited-edition line featuring a Shiraz, Hard Chard and Cabernet Sauvignon, all rocking labels that literally glow in the dark. And because 19 Crimes never does things quietly, they’re trading screams for prizes with their Scream to Win comp.
All you need to do is bust out a killer scary movie scream and you could be stepping in front of the camera, winning yourself the chance to be an extra in Australia’s next horror flick.
That’s right, Samara. I’m coming for you.
How the heckaroo do I trade in a scream?
Great question!
From October 16 to October 19, 19 Crimes will be dropping a scream booth onto the Crown Riverwalk in Melbourne’s Southbank (think Netflix’s The Kissing Booth, but with less Jacob Elordi).
All you need to do is get yourself down to Crown River Walk between 12 pm and 9 pm, head into the booth, and deliver your most blood-curdling scream to be in the running for the coveted extra role in an upcoming horror movie.
VIC Activation: AU 18+. Max 2 entries p/person p/day & max 1 entry p/’scream’. Major prize is not a real/paid job & must be claimed by 5pm AEDT 28/11/25 & attend filming as advised. See here for Ts&Cs inc. entry & prize info. Promoter: Treasury Wine Estates Australia Limited ABN 78 145 321 320.

What if I’m not a Melbourne local?
That’s okay, there’s still prizes galore for you!
If you can’t make it to Melbourne, you can submit your scream online via their website for your chance to win instant cash and vouchers, with a prize pool worth $35,500 up for grabs.
Online entries are open now so you have plenty of time to practice. Head to the FAQ page for all the info you’ll need to make sure you’re in the running.

    How should I prepare?
It depends on how badly you want to win!
While I don’t recommend screaming at your desk (you could risk unemployment), a little practice will go a long way.
Study up on some of horror’s best screamers, drink lots of ginger tea, and while you’re at it, maybe try some of Sharpay Evans’ vocal runs. That girl could out-scream the best of them.

The moral of the story is, if you like your slasher flicks with a drop of red (pun intended), then pop those corks and prep those pipes. Submit your scream here and who knows, maybe you’ll be the next big winner.
