Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels belted his fourth home run of the spring exhibtion season, helping his team to a 17-8 victory over the Cleveland Indians among the big league games held on Tuesday in Florida and Arizona.
Othani, who the previous day slugged longballs in back-to-back plate appearances, hit from the No. 2 hole as the degisnated hitter. His two-run shot was his fourth homer of the spring.
The two-way player went 2-for-3 and has hit safely in seven consecutive games.
Ohtani made solid contact and took his time out of the batter's box after the third-inning blast, walking toward first base while watching his massive shot.
His strong swing on the first pitch from right-hander Shane Bieber, the reigning American League Cy Young winner, sent the ball over the batter's eye in center field in a virtual replay of his first home run of the preseason.
According to the Angels, the blast measured about 141 meters.
"I need to make good hard contact," Ohtani said. "I think things are good right now."
Meanwhile, Yoshitomo Tsutsugo of the Tampa Bay Rays batted leadoff and went 0-for-2 with a walk and two strikeouts in a 7-1 victory over the Orioles.
