Ohio State wrestling with No. 1 recruiting class according to InterMat

The Ohio State wrestling team has just hauled in the top ranked recruiting class in the country according to the InterMat rankings. It’s a class that has three of the top six recruits overall and continues some serious momentum the Buckeye program has enjoyed under coach Tom Ryan over the last few years. It had the 2nd ranked class just last year to go along with a top ten class each of the three years before that. That’s flat out getting it done.

The great class comes at a good time because OSU has lost some very noteworthy wrestlers over the last couple of years. The rest of the top ten has some familiar names in the college wrestling world in it.

  • No. 2 Arizona State
  • No. 3 Cornell
  • No. 4 Wisconsin
  • No. 5 Virginia Tech
  • No. 6 Nebraska
  • No. 7 Oklahoma
  • No. 8 Oklahoma State
  • No. 9 Iowa State
  • No. 10 Illinois

You may be asking where Penn State is and that would be way down at No. 22. Michigan is just outside the top ten at No. 11. Yes, things appear to be looking up in Columbus.
