Ohio State wrestling to take on Stanford in first match in new Covelli Center

Head coach Tom Ryan continues to bring the Ohio State wrestling program to bigger and better heights. Marry that with athletic director Gene Smith’s focus on improving athletic facilities and you get shiny new toys to play with.

In case you don’t know, the Ohio State wrestling team will move from holding matches in St. John Arena, to the brand new Covelli Center dedicated for some of Ohio State’s Olympic-type sports. It’s not only a cutting edge facility, but it is an intimate setting that makes the rest of the college programs jealous.

And now, based on a Tweet from the official Twitter feed of Ohio State wrestling, we now know when the first match will be and against whom. According to the announcement, the Buckeyes will be battling Stanford on November 10.

So, if you’re a big wrestling fan, or just a fan of all things Ohio State, keep this on your radar and try to open the Covelli Center in style. You might just get to see some of the new faces that makeup the country’s top recruiting class
