Ohio State wrestling takes down Purdue in dominating fashion

The Ohio State wrestling team bounced back after getting trounced by Penn State last week. The Buckeyes started out hot and on a roll in West Lafayette, winning six straight matches and nine of ten overall to win by a total team score of 34-3.

The Buckeyes received bonus points for major decisions by Malik Heinselman (125), Joey McKenna (141), Kaleb Romero (165) and Myles Martin (184), and for a pin by Micah Jordan at the 149 lb. weight class.

With the dual-meet win, No. 2 Ohio State improves its overall record to 9-2 and to 6-2 in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes take on No. 6 Nebraska at home next weekend to round out the Big Ten dual-schedule.

From there, it’ll take on Cornell before getting ready for the postseason with the Big Ten Tournament and then the NCAAs. Things are heading down the homestretch.
