Ohio State wrestling closes out regular season with win over No. 7 Cornell

Now it’s on to the postseason.

The wrestling Bucks dominated No. 7 Cornell on the mat tonight by way of a 25-9 team win on the road. With the victory, the Buckeyes close out the regular season 12-2 overall, and 7-2 in the Big Ten.

The Buckeyes lost the first three matches, but then followed up by winning the last seven to close things out in dominating fashion. Ohio State piled on the points by getting bonus points in three matches. Micah Jordan won with a technical fall, while both Ke-Shawn Hayes and Kollin Moore got major decisions.

For Ohio State, it’s now time to turn its attention to the Big Ten Championships and beyond. Despite losing the regular season crown to Penn State, the Buckeyes have several ranked wrestlers and will push the Nittany Lions for the tournament crown, and should be a player come NCAA Championships time as well.

The Big Ten Championships take place on March 9 and 10 in Minneapolis.
