Ohio State wrestling able to outlast Nebraska for home finale win

The Buckeyes took down the No. 6 ranked Nebrasks Cornhusers on the mat Sunday 21-12 to improve to 11-2 overall, and 7-2 in the conference in its last home dual-meet of the 2018-19 season.

The Buckeyes won six of the ten matches, and had a couple dramatic finishes. First, No. 2 Kollin Moore took care of Nebraska’s Eric Schultz for a 7-5 victory in sudden victory.

That was followed up with some more theater in the heavyweight class when OSU’s Chase Singletary pulled off the upset of No. 7 David Jensen with a takedown with .01 seconds left for another 7-5 decision.

Ohio State got some very important bonus points with a major decision by Luke Pletcher against Jevon Parrish, and a technical fall by Micah Jordan over Jordan Shearer. The No. 1 ranked Myles Martin remained undefeated with a 12-5 decision over No. 4 Taylor Venz.

The Buckeyes will now set their sights on a dual-meet against Cornell on the road Friday night before it gets ready for the Big Ten Tournament.
