Now it really begins.
Ohio State must travel to Lincoln, Nebraska this week to take on a Cornhuskers squad that will be looking to announce its arrival back among the land of the to be reckoned with. And there’s no doubt the prime-time night crowd will be ready to help the cause.
So far the Buckeyes have looked fantastic, but it all seems to have been a warm up for what we’re about to see Saturday.
As we do every week, we asked some of our Buckeyes Wire contributors to provide some predictions for the game and to give a short synopsis on why they feel that way. Here’s what they all had to say.

I’m a little worried about this one, but maybe it has something to do with the memories of road games gone rogue the last couple of years. Either way, expect Nebraska to play its best game to date. I have a feeling this one will be closer than the experts think, and Ohio State will be able pull away with talent and depth at the end of a hard fought affair.

Nebraska will be better than their showing at Illinois on Saturday evening, but Ohio State will be ready. The Bucks will start out a little slow before they start to impose their will. Scott Frost and company will have his team ready as he will be looking for that first resume building win of his young coaching career.
This one will be close going into the fourth quarter until a steady dose of Fields and Dobbins will effectively end the Huskers hopes and send Big Red Nation home to an unhappily ever after.

This game will be uncomfortably close into the 3rd quarter. Teams don’t just waltz into Lincoln at night and dominate. Nebraska and their very talented quarterback will be ready. A true test for the revamped Ohio State defense.

I’m rolling the dice with this one. I wrote in my season preview that this is the game I was worried about the most. And I still am. But the way Ohio State has looked has exceeded every expectation. We’ll find out what the Buckeyes are made of, but I trust Justin Fields makes a late play (a la Terrelle Pryor against Wisconsin) to pull it out.
