Ohio State vs. Nebraska Buckeyes Wire staff predictions

The Ohio State Buckeyes are coming off a big victory over the Penn State Nittany Lions, 33-24, and will now be going into Lincoln, Nebraska to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers who are coming off a hugely disappointing loss to the Purdue Boilermakers, 28-23.

Ohio State is just outside the top four for the College Football Playoff push and need to keep winning to stay in the picture. The Buckeyes are favored by more than two touchdowns, but Nebraska has held the majority of their games close.

Here at Buckeyes Wire, we are ready to give out our predictions once again. Uur all knowing leader and editor, Phil Harrison joined me as far as predicting an Ohio State struggle last week, but we will see how the chips fall this week.

Ohio State 42, Nebraska 24

This game does concern me a little because Nebraska has been in every game, and if it can finally put things together and not turn the ball over and make mistakes at the most inconvenient times, the ‘Huskers could be a bigger problem than anyone thinks. I think Nebraska comes out with its A-game and makes this thing a contest for a while. In the end though, the depth and talent of Ohio State wins out in the second half and the Buckeyes pull away for the win.

Ohio State 49, Nebraska 21

Nebraska has some talent on defense with linebackers that flow to the ball well and defensive backs that can be more physical than most. The Cornhuskers are also impressive on special teams, but they are atrocious on offense and have maybe the worst quarterback the Buckeyes will see all season.

I don’t believe the Huskers have the depth to hang with the Buckeyes and OSU may be feeling the hangover of a hard-fought battle with Penn State. Ohio State pulls away in the fourth quarter to stay in the Big Ten East driver’s seat.
