Here we go Buckeyes fans. After an offseason of drama and despair, one that looked like Ohio State and Big Ten football wasn’t going to happen, we are to the point where the season is right on the doorstep knocking on the door to get in.
Ohio State breaks the seal on the very much delayed — but very much real –campaign Saturday at Noon against Nebraska. We think this team is going to be another one that can contend for not only a fourth straight Big Ten championship but a national title. We just don’t know though until we see the team on the field.
Nebraska is in a very different place, one in which it just hopes to get things back to a respectable level in the third season of head coach and former player Scott Frost.
All of that out of the way, each week we ask our writers here at Buckeyes Wire to provide their predictions on the game. Here’s how each of the three writers believe this one plays out Saturday afternoon.

There aren’t too many given Nebraska much of a chance in this one. I don’t either. Ohio State has been waiting to release some frustration and aggression after last year’s Fiesta Bowl and the campaign to #Fight for the season. The team has been focused, intentional, and motivated in its preparation for the season.
Many think there may be a little rust, but I don’t think you’ll see the normal feeling out period for this squad. Ohio State jumps on Nebraska early and cruises in the second half for a relatively easy victory.

Ohio State is on a mission. With a bad taste left from a semifinal loss to Clemson combined with a season that almost wasn’t, the Buckeyes have one thing on their mind. Anything less than a national championship will be a disappointment.
I look for the Bucks to score early and often, overwhelming Nebraska on both lines of scrimmage, with the O-line opening huge running holes and keeping Fields on his feet. On the other side of the ball, the D-line keeps relentless pressure in the Husker backfield.
Ohio State wins big and is right back in the middle of the college football playoff conversation as one of the top three teams in the country.

Ohio State will want to make a statement and prove to everyone it deserves to be in the top four teams. Like last year, Nebraska will be able to get some traction on the ground and there will be a flash here and there from their young receiving corps. However, the firepower, defensive strength, and overall team talent of Ohio State will be way too much for the Cornhuskers. Just Fields comes out and cements his name in the Heisman discussion as the Buckeyes win easily
