This will seem like an open and shut case to readers here, but it’s not as clear to other fan bases isolated from all that goes with the history and monumental clashes of The Game. Three members of the FOX Sports college football crew unanimously picked the Ohio State vs. Michigan rivalry as the best in all of college football.
The three members of the FOX college football crew include former USC quarterback and Heisman winner Matt Leinart, former Notre Dame quarterback Brady Quinn, and former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer. We probably shouldn’t be surprised at both Ohio natives Meyer and Quinn earmarking the annual grudge match between the old, Midwest rivals as the best, but for Leinart to agree is noteworthy.
That’s because he played at USC that has its own iconic rivalries with both UCLA and Notre Dame. But for him, it was cemented while he covered the titanic struggle between Ohio State and Michigan the last couple of years.
“Covering that game the last couple of years, I can really see why,” said Leinart. “You just talk about the fan base on both sides. Ohio State people talk about the team in the North, they won’t even say the word Michigan. The legendary stories of the Woody Hayes days, and Bo Schembechler of Michigan.”

This year’s matchup is set for the last Saturday in November once again, and it should be another one with huge implications if both teams have the type of year they are expected to have.
