Ohio State uses defense to lead Indiana by seven at half of B1G Tournament

Kaleb Wesson is back, and is presence has been felt on both ends of the floor in a bit of a sloppy game. But that could be good news for the Buckeyes who seem to thrive on the ugly win this year and lead Indiana 35-28 at the half in a must win game for their NCAA hopes.

And it all starts with defense. Ohio State has only shot 41.2 percent from the field, but has held Indiana to just 30.0 percent and has forced ten turnovers that’s led to fifteen points on the other end.

The Buckeyes may not be setting the nets on fire, but they’ve gotten contributions from multiple spots. Veteran guard Keyshawn Woods leads OSU with ten points, with Kaleb Wesson chipping in nine, and his brother Andre eight.

Indiana’s leading scorer Romeo Langford has struggled thus far because of a helping Ohio State defense that has forced him to take jump shots rather than getting into spots in the lane he likes to penetrate to. He has just three points at the half.

Now it’ll be up to Ohio State stop from falling victim to a letdown in the second half like we’ve seen in several games this year. Play like it did on the defensive end in the first twenty minutes, get some shots to go down and we might just be talking about a NCAA Tournament squad.
