Ohio State top prospect Chase Young facing indefinite suspension

One of the top prospects in the 2020 NFL draft class may have played his last down at the college level.

Ohio State pass rusher Chase Young is facing an indefinite suspension, and will not play in Saturday’s game against Maryland, per multiple reports:

The Buckeyes have issued a statement confirming that Young won’t play Saturday, but provided few details regarding the length of the potential suspension:

Young has also released a statement giving details on the situation:

Young has been arguably the most dominant defensive player in all of college football, even dating back to the latter part of the 2018 season. Debate has been growing about his potential candidacy for the Heisman Trophy, an award only won by a defensive player once in college football history.

It remains to be seen how serious of an issue this will become, and the details of the situation will obviously decide whether or not it impacts Young’s draft stock in the end.
