Ohio State to host free youth tackling seminar on May 21

Consider this a public service announcement of sorts.

According to a release from the fine folks at THE Ohio State University, just like last year, there will be a free safe youth tackling coaches seminar in late May.

Ryan Day’s Youth Tackling Seminar is set to take place at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center Tuesday May 21 at 6 PM, and will be geared towards local and regional coaches as well as middle school football coaches. The clinic … wait for it — is FREE.

New linebackers coach Al Washington along with other members of the football staff (who shall remain nameless) will provide instruction and teaching on safe youth tackling — as if you couldn’t glean that from the name of the clinic — but there it is.

And if that’s not enough to keep the youth of America safe in a violent game, you can also receive a free DVD because anything free is better than nothing for a cost.

Youth and middle school coaches planning on attending should please email football program administrator Brendan Bishop at bishop.439@osu.edu
