Ohio State will soon know if it will land another coveted prospect in the 2022 class. Shawn Murphy has set August 1 to reveal his college destination via his personal Twitter account.
Murphy is a top 10 linebacker according to 247Sports Composite Rankings and would be a nice addition to an outstanding position group that includes C.J. Hicks, aka Captain Buckeye, and Gabe Powers. Hicks and Powers land at No. 2 and 3 on that same list.
Murphy, who hails from Manassas, Virginia, narrowed his list earlier this month to include the Buckeyes along with Alabama, Florida, LSU, and Penn State. There hasn’t been much coming from his camp to give any indication where he’ll land, but Murphy does have one crystal ball prediction to the Tide. However, the prediction is only a five out of ten in confidence.

Ohio State was among the first to extend an offer to Murphy all the way back in 2019, so he’s had some time to build a relationship with the staff. You can bet Hicks has also been working hard to garner that relationship as he has done with several other recruits in helping them make their final decision.
Buckeye nation will be hoping to hear another big BOOM! on August 1.
