Ohio State still working the transfer market, potentially interested in Bucknell’s Jimmy Satos per report

Ohio State big man Kaleb Wesson appears to be headed to the NBA, and the Buckeye recruiting staff seems to be working the transfer market hard with an extra spot available.

According to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein, Bucknell transfer Jimmy Satos is garnering interest from Ohio State among other programs. He’s not the only potential transfer Chris Holtmann and staff have been working hard.

They’ve already landed graduate transfer Seth Towns, and they’re also in the running for Santa Clara guard Trey Wertz.

It’s clear that times have changed and college head coaches now must work the transfer market hard in addition to the traditional prospects out of high school. Former head coach Thad Matta didn’t go too heavy into that landscape, but it’s clear Chris Holtmann believes it’s an integral part of getting players in today’s game.

According to a source close to Rothstein, other programs drawing interest include Gonzaga, Minnesota, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Xavier.

Sotos is a six-foot, three-inch point-guard that hails from Elk Grove Village, Illinois. He led the Bisons in points (11.5) and assists (3.9) last season, and was the only player to start all 32 games during the 2019-2020 season. If and when he makes his decision, he will have to sit out a year and have one year of eligibility remaining as an undergraduate.

We’ll continue to watch this as more news becomes available and if there is mutual interest.
