We’ve been keeping an eye on USA TODAY’s equivalent of the College Football Playoff projects, better known as its “Football Four.” And while Ohio State has been listed as the top seed for a few weeks now, that could always change. We live in a fickle media knee-jerk world and any narrative and perception can change things in an instant.
But so far it hasn’t, especially after everyone witnessed the public flogging the Buckeyes administered to Wisconsin in the ‘Shoe Saturday.
Because of that, the Buckeyes are still the No. 1 seed according to USA TODAY’s George Schroeder.
Here’s what he says about Ohio State:
We keep saying it, but they keep proving it. After the Buckeyes turned a supposed showdown with Wisconsin into a laugher, here goes again: This is the nation’s most complete team. JK Dobbins, Justin Fields – the offense is terrific – but pay special attention to the unblockable Chase Young, who is the chief wrecking ball for a very fast, very mean defense.
We couldn’t agree more.
Joining the Buckeyes in the playoff projection is No. 2 LSU, No. 3 Alabama, and No. 4 seed Clemson. That of course is going to change likely in some way, shape, or form when the Tigers face off with the Crimson Tide in a couple of weeks. Oklahoma is on life-support after its loss to Kansas State on Saturday.
For now though, those four seem pretty well set, and Ohio State is doing nothing to slow down the perception of a lot of the national media members that it is the best team in the country to date.
