Ohio State showing interest in William and Mary graduate transfer guard

Chris Holtmann and the Ohio State program appear to have interest in newly christened potential William and Mary graduate transfer Justin Pierce. This according to Jeff Goodman of Stadium.

Pierce just recently informed the world of his decision to transfer on Twitter Friday, and the rush to kick the tires has been quick and steady apparently. Several other big-name programs have also shown interest. At William and Mary, the 6-7, 215 lb. guard averaged 14.9 points, 8.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists this year.

Ohio State already has a stellar recruiting class coming in for 2019, but Holtmann has been open to adding another player because of scholarship available because of the Micah Potter transfer in the fall just before the season began.

In fact, OSU has already shown interest in the 7-0 Ibrahima Diallo, who was on campus this weekend, but it’s clear it is at least also exploring the availability and interest of Pierce who would add immediate depth, length and scoring at the guard position.

We’ll keep an eye this as the story develops.
